King Bed Heads & Headboards

A king bed head helps define the sleeping area, particularly in bedrooms where the bed is the main furniture piece. Before selecting a design, measure the wall behind your mattress and consider the space available on either side for lighting, furniture and movement.

A king headboard should complement the proportions of your existing bed without making the surrounding space feel crowded. Fluted and scallop-fan designs can create different visual effects, from structured vertical detailing to softer, curved silhouettes.

For a coordinated arrangement, position your headboard alongside suitable king bed frames and consider the width of your bedside tables . Check individual measurements before purchasing to ensure the furniture works together.

The King Bed Heads collection includes different upholstered designs for contemporary Australian bedrooms. Maren features a fluted velvet finish, while Clove offers a scallop-fan silhouette upholstered in bouclé fabric.

Fluted velvet designs create a structured appearance through vertical detailing, while scallop-fan bouclé headboards introduce rounded shapes and textured upholstery. Available finishes include mocha brown, warm beige and cream white, depending on the model.

Consider how your chosen king bedhead complements the colours and materials already present in your bedroom. Warm neutral upholstery can work alongside timber finishes, while textured fabrics add visual interest to simpler interiors.

Not every king headboard uses the same installation method. Some designs may require mounting hardware or compatible fixing points, while others may have different positioning requirements. Always confirm the installation instructions for your selected product.

Measure your king bed base, including its width and height, then compare these measurements against the headboard specifications. Allow space for skirting boards, bedside furniture and any fittings required for installation.

If you're replacing more than your headboard, consider how the new design will work with your king mattress and bed frame.

Different upholstery fabrics require suitable cleaning methods to maintain their appearance. Velvet headboards benefit from gentle dust removal using a soft brush attachment, while bouclé upholstery requires care to avoid damaging its textured surface.

Follow the manufacturer's cleaning recommendations and avoid excessive moisture, harsh chemicals and prolonged exposure to direct sunlight. Where spot cleaning is permitted, test the recommended method on a small, inconspicuous area first.

Check any mounting hardware periodically and ensure the headboard remains correctly positioned according to its installation instructions.
